Shaw Dean is a co-owner of Free Form Fitness and the head coach.
Shaw's experience includes pro level MMA across Australia and internationally. Shaw has competed in boxing, mma, muay thai, grappling, crossfit, powerlifting and strongman.
Shaw is a personal trainer and strength coach, he teaches the grappling, kids martial arts and women's self defence classes.
Hi everyone, my name is Kirrilee and I'm co-owner of the gym, the meditation teacher, a yoga instructor and a proud mum of 5 awesome kids.
I grew up doing martial arts with my father who is a black belt and obtained my red sash doing Kung Fu, after that I moved on to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu where I received my blue belt and won gold in two state competitions as a white belt. I have run three successful self defence courses with my husband Shaw and with the support of Tasmania Police.
I've completed certificates in Meditation and Mindfulness teacher training, Yoga and Personal training.
I'm currently studying Positive Psychology which teaches me positive ways to communicate with others and with myself and Embodied Processing which teaches me about somatic energy stored in the body and how to work through stored trauma in the body.
I am passionate about health, wellness and community and my hope is that everyone that enters the gym feels welcomed and supported.
I'm really excited to be able to offer meditation courses and to be able to connect with so many of you as meditation truly transformed my life.
James has trained martial arts for 11 years and has competed in MMA and Muay Thai.
James has won Tasmanian titles in Muay Thai.
James teaches the Muay Thai classes with his club Huon Valley Muay Thai at Free Form Fitness.
Renata comes to Free Form Fitness as a gym assistant with an unwavering commitment to all things health and fitness and an unquenchable thirst for success.
Her extensive background includes having previously competed in both powerlifting and strongman competitions with a current keen interest in bodybuilding. However, her greatest fitness achievement is having personally lost 45kg through healthy eating and exercise, which has completely changed her life. Her weight loss success story has featured in Shape Fitness magazine inspiring many others that if ‘she can do it, YOU can too!’.
Currently, Renata is working towards becoming a qualified nutritionist and personal trainer so that she, too, can help you live your life to the fullest by achieving your health and fitness goals.
